AME2P : Physical Activity Metabolism > Health

Published on July 21, 2021 Updated on July 21, 2021

The objective of our research group is to optimize physical activity and exercise programs for performance and health purposes. We have a specific interest in the management of metabolic diseases. We also try, through a clinical and cellular approach, to understand the metabolic, endocrine, nutritional and musculoskeletal responses to acute and chronic exercise.

The laboratory of the Metabolic Adaptations to Exercise in Physiological and Pathological Conditions (AME2P) is a team (EA 3533) of the University of Clermont Auvergne (UCA). Its research activity aims to optimize physical activity programs prescribed in the context of chronic diseases. We also aim at understand how chronic diseases can impair functional abilities and physiological response to exercise. In the specific context of cancer, studies are carried out focusing on:
- liver cancer. We are working on endocrine responses to exercise in order to identify the molecules that are secreted and that can modify the microenvironment of the tumor.
- the muscular and functional consequences of chemo-induced neuropathies, and the preventive role of different types of physical activity on these neuropathies. This work is carried out in collaboration with the laboratory NEURODOL.
